Cupcake P.S.

Holy Tannins, Batman!! So I know I blathered on about Cupcake Chardonnay, and I have to admit that I felt a little foolish, because as it turns out, there are many, many of you out there who already know about Cupcake and its awesomeness. So I thought I was done blogging about it.

But then last night we busted open a bottle of Cupcake Red Velvet. Whoa. It's so good, it makes you wanna slap your mama. And maybe everyone already knows about this one too, but in case you don't, get a load of this description:

"This wine shows a heady nose of chocolate, deep rich blackberries, red fruits, and a creamy mocha finish that it unmistakable in its intensity and length. It's reminiscent of a blackberry chocolate cupcake with a mocha coulis. Enjoy with sweet and spicy Hoison steak, a barbeque bacon cheeseburger, or even dark chocolate fondue."

How do they make wine have a mocha finish? I don't know, and I don't care. But believe me when I say, it tasted exactly like that. And no, I'm not getting paid by Cupcake Vineyards to spew this stuff. I really, really mean it, and I'm not getting a dime for it. We drank it with farfalle pasta with cremini mushrooms, sweet italian turkey sausage, peas and heaps of parmesan, and it knocked my socks off. You must try it, unless you're underage, and then you really shouldn't. It cost us $10 at World Market, but I hear you can get it for $6 at Costco.
